Guide
- For information about getting around Amsterdam, see here.
- For ideas about things to do, check out the I Amsterdam website.
- Probably the best list for good restaurants is this one, curated by a local food blogger. It is more complete and easier to navigate than the restaurant list below, and you can search by cuisine type and area. Recommended.
- A less curated but rather complete list of restaurants (with reviews) can be found on the website Iens. (Essentially a Dutch version of Yelp).
- Restaurants are often small, so things can be difficult if you are a big party. Reservations are often a good idea. The Foodhallen (see map below) is a large indoor space with many food options, and is one good option if you are a large group. It's easy to get to from the conference venue via tram.
The map below lists some suggestions of where to eat, drink, or grab a good espresso. Click the icon on the top-left corner of the map to open a categorized list, and the zoom button on the top-right to expand the map. Red denotes restaurants, orange cafes with food, yellow cafes without (much) food, green denotes coffee/espresso spots (not coffeeshops! - which as you probably know, has a different meaning in Amsterdam...), and blue denotes activities, museums, etc.
The list is repeated below the map, but unfortunately does not link to the locations on the map. But unlike the list inside the map, you can immediately see the descriptions, so it may be help you find something that catches your eye.
